Initiative aims to encourage Vale employees to voluntarily invest in enterprises with a positive social and environmental impact

The Vale Impact Network, an initiative led by Fundo Vale’s Innovation Area to engage employees from all parts of Vale in the theme of positive social and environmental impact, has embarked on a new phase: the Investors’ Journey. Run in partnership with Sitawi (an impact investing specialist) and Valia (Vale’s corporate pension system), the program aims to encourage employees to voluntarily invest in businesses that generate environmental and social benefits. The network already has more than 40 registered investors.

The Investors’ Journey offers training in financial and investment education, using content provided by Valia and Sitawi. The meetings are thematic and practical, using the same format employed by another Fundo Vale initiative, the Mentoring Journey.

“The training is dedicated to Vale employees interested in voluntarily investing their financial resources in positive impact businesses, in order to obtain a financial return while triggering positive impacts through their investment,” explains Giovana Gohr Serenato, the head of Fundo Vale’s Innovation Area.

The Investors’ Journey was launched on September 18 at an event featuring Marco Gorini, co-founder and CEO of Din4mo, one of Fundo Vale’s partner organizations. He shared his personal experience and recounted the path that led him to the world of impact investing (also known as investing with a cause). Currently, 75% of his personal wealth follows this approach, while only 25% is allocated to traditional market investments.

Gorini stressed the importance of initiatives like the Investors’ Journey, which bring together groups of people with similar goals. He also pointed out that today, impact investments are much more accessible than when he started out, thanks to the variety of platforms that make it possible to allocate resources at a lower cost.
