The first initiative to bring together an investment fund with a forest and climate thesis and startups in the Cubo Itaú ecosystem involved KPTL, a leading venture capital manager in Brazil with more than 90 investments made so far, and 10 new companies selected by Fundo Vale.

Nineteen businesses were pre-selected by Fundo Vale, based on KPTL’s theses on agribusiness, sustainability and health. Of them, 10 were chosen by Brazil’s leading venture capital manager to take part in an exclusive pitch day held on December 5.

The startups presented their businesses, shared their ideas for new partnership possibilities and, above all, gave the potential investor the chance to identify a possible match for its investment portfolio. The participating startups were hCentrix, A de Agro, Predikta, Vertown, IoTag, NetWord Agro, Amachains, ATLAS Florestal, WasteBank and Abundance Brasil.

This was the first ever initiative to bring together an investment fund with a forest and climate thesis and startups in the Cubo Itaú ecosystem, promoted by Fundo Vale. The project was part of the Cubo Itaú Impact strategy, designed by Fundo Vale’s innovation area, whose intention is to act as a driving force behind the positive social and environmental impact agenda in order to catalyze and unlock investments and develop new businesses and solutions for the forest and climate agenda.
