Fundo Vale, in partnership with consulting firm Palladium, is mapping Brazilian agroforestry businesses. The selection process took place between April 11 and May 2, and 69 enterprises with positive social and environmental impacts registered. They are now being evaluated in terms of their potential to scale up, sustainable productive habitat restoration models, financial viability, potential to generate carbon credits and expansion.
As well as surveying businesses with positive impacts in any Brazilian biome, prioritizing the Amazon, which are focused on habitat restoration, the mapping exercise seeks to foster links between Fundo Vale and enterprises with scalable production systems. The registered initiatives are now part of a database of businesses, and they will be periodically evaluated to identify potential synergies with Fundo Vale’s strategies in achieving Vale’s 2030 Forest Goal.
