Meeting discussed activities in Brazil and the organization’s next conference, which will take place in September in Mexico

Last month, Márcia Soares, Fundo Vale’s Amazon and partnerships manager and a member of the Latimpacto network’s Managing Board, went to São Paulo to attend a Latimpacto meeting. The event brought together more than 20 organizations and around 30 people to update the network on their activities in Brazil. It was the first in-person meeting with Latimpacto’s new Brazil director, Pedro Telles.

Latimpacto’s next conference, which was also discussed during the meeting, will take place from September 9 to 12 in Oxaca, Mexico, bringing together leaders from the social and environmental impact ecosystem, focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean. The event will include field trips, academic sessions, workshops and inspiring talks. In addition, there will be spaces for connecting and networking with disruptive and experiential formats.

Latimpacto is an organization dedicated to promoting impact investing in Latin America, connecting investors, donors and social entrepreneurs to generate sustainable benefits and tackle complex social and environmental challenges.

Pan-Amazon initiative

Latimpacto’s Pan-Amazon Agenda, supported by Fundo Vale, aims to mobilize local and international capital in both the public and private sectors to promote conservation and sustainability in the Amazon. Taking advantage of the impact ecosystem in the Brazilian Amazon, the initiative seeks to expand its influence to the Andean region, creating synergies to strengthen conservation and sustainable development actions.

The success of the agenda depends on the efficient coordination and execution of financial resources, ensuring that they reach local and indigenous communities, bolstering their role in protecting the Amazon ecosystem.
