Brazil has huge potential to become a leader in climate innovation and sustainability. To achieve this, it is necessary to have a solid base of information about the country’s green economy ecosystem. This is the aim of the 2024 Green Wave Mapping Project, an unprecedented initiative by Climate Ventures, supported by Fundo Vale, which will generate a robust overview of the low-carbon economy in Brazil. The project seeks to fill a gap involving a lack of data and fragmented information on the subject, addressing specific areas such as climate justice, climate techs and nature-based solutions.

By providing a robust, science-based taxonomy, the mapping exercise will facilitate a clearer understanding of the potential of the Brazilian green economy, allowing companies, investors and policymakers to make data-driven and strategic decisions.

The results of the survey will be compiled into six “Green Wave Insights 2024-2025” publications, which will provide an in-depth overview of this ecosystem, highlighting opportunities and challenges and pointing out essential pillars for its development.
